City Of Portland Ombudsman

Residents unable to resolve an issue, complaint or concern with a City agency, have an alternative resource. The City of Portland Ombudsman impartially investigates administrative acts of City programs and projects and submits recommendations for appropriate change.  As a part of the independent elected City Auditor’s office, the Ombudsman is independent from the Mayor and City Council. The services of the Ombudsman are free and confidential. Email the Ombudsman. 503-823-0144.

Fraud Tip Line

The independent elected City of Portland Auditor’s Open City Tipline provides a confidential method of reporting suspected fraud, waste or misuse of City resources, and abuse of position through the EthicsPoint system. Other reporting resources for the City of Portland as well as other government agencies can be found on the City of Portland Auditor’s website.

Independent Police Review

The independent elected City of Portland Auditor’s Independent Police Review division provides impartial oversight of police conduct, practices, and policies to increase accountability and public trust.
